Overview
OTDR Launch Cables, sometimes called launch cords, launch leads, receive cables, or fiber optic delay lines, are specialized cables used with Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers (OTDR). By placing a launch cable at the start and a receive cable at the end of the fiber under test, you can measure insertion loss and pinpoint faults across the entire fiber link. This setup minimizes the impact of the OTDR’s launch pulse on measurement accuracy, acting as a Dead Zone Eliminator Cable for more precise diagnostics.
